Dear Colleague,

As per today, the ESHI counts almost 500 members! Having only been founded last year, we are overwhelmed by the fast pace our hybrid imaging network is growing and we are eager to build on the trust that has been put in our society!

The great response and support we have received over these first months confirm our belief that there is a strong demand for a common platform that allows sharing expert education and research experience.

This is why, in 2017, we will start putting a stronger focus on education. We have scheduled 9 online lectures (“Webinars”) in which distinguished experts of the hybrid imaging community will share their knowledge about various cross-specialty and multi-modality imaging applications. Those will be free of charge for members.

Additionally, there will be other courses and workshops that the ESHI will co-host with partner societies (e.g. with ESMOFIR in April).

We will try our best to strengthen the ties with our members and improve communication through various channels, for example through regular newsletters or the newly implemented storyboard on our website, putting the spotlight on medical centres in Europe that use hybrid imaging.

We are looking forward to a great year and I, as ESHI President, am happy that you will be joining us on this path.

With best regards,

Prof. Dr. Katrine Riklund
President ESHI

ESHI Story No.1
Radiology Center (Vienna/AT)

The Radiology Center in Vienna combines the advantages of a small private practice with those of a large, modern clinic by operating state-of-the-art imaging equipment in radiology (X-ray, mammography, ultrasound, CT, MRI and angiography) and nuclear medicine (laboratory, scintigraphy, positron emission tomography, SPECT/CT, PET/CT).

“We cannot imagine operating either SPECT/CT or PET/CT without the joint efforts of radiology and nuclear medicine specialists,” says Philipp Peloschek, MD.

On our Storyboard you can read the full interview with Martha Hoffmann, MD, and Philipp Peloschek, MD, and find more information about the center.

Have a look at the case they submitted: Avascular necrosis of the knee: 99mTc-HDP bone SPECT/CT and MRI

ESHI General Assembly

The next ESHI General Assembly will take place during ECR 2017:

Thursday, March 2, 12:00-13:00

A separate invitation including the agenda will be sent out next week. We welcome all members to participate!

Evolving Hybrid Imaging into Clinical Practice

ESMOFIR, in collaboration with ESHI, organises a full-day Symposium dedicated to “Evolving hybrid imaging into clinical practice” which will take place on Saturday, April 8, 2017, subsequent to the European Molecular Imaging Meeting (EMIM 2017) in Cologne.

You can find the program and more information here.

To register, simply sign in during your EMIM registration. The workshop can also be booked separately!
